If you must use the crossover for just the mid, then you would need to cut the traces on the circuit leading to the tweeter portion. You could always solder them back in later if need be.
How would I go about doing this? Do you have pictures in which you can show me a tutorial how to do this. Only if you live in the UK i could have send you the elite xo to do this for me

Marko can you (or do you know anyone in the UK) who can do this for me?

OR would the elite Ti5 mid be fine running active without the elite xo?

Thank You
Haz
I have never taken an elite crossover apart, so I do not know how it is setup. If you found the first series item in the signal path for the tweeter and removed it, or removed one of its leads, this would completely remove the tweeter circuit.

This just adds one more reason to my growing reasons I don’t like the Elite crossovers and feel they are an engineering abomination.

1) Both channels in extremely close proximity of each other which reduces separation

2) LEDs in the signal path which no matter how insignificant will still color the sound in some way over not having them in there (more evidence the crossover was developed by a marketing team, not an engineering team)

3) No bi-amp option to accurately level match tweeters and mids if you so choose
Would it be a better idea just to fine tune the ti5 mids via the PXI-H990 processor and not go throught the hassle of connecting the elite xo at all?

EDIT: Doc you just answered my question before I could post :o

And as doc confirms I will run the whole Ti951 setup active and these are just preinstall ideas. It would be better to deal with all this now rather than later.

Thanks guys for all the tips and advice, I really appreciate it.

Would anyone be interested in the pics when the install is finished?

post or ban

Make sure you disable all proc. on the amps too. Control everything from your f1 proc. Thats what I do w/ my p9 :D. Love it, even though I may downgrade for $ issues.

Where are you going to place these speakers??? Also I would suggest a better mid range then the 3" VC morels, since your going active now. I hate those big VC for midrange.

Thanks again for the tips and the Ti5 will be located in the stock location however in proper 0.05 cu.ft sealed enclosures firing across the car and the ti/supremo tweeters (haven't decided yet which ones to go for) will go in the a-pillars firing across or slightly on-axis depends which sounds better. The 9" mids will be in the footwell in 0.4 cu.ft proper sealed enclosures firing straight up towards the headliner. And the Ti12D Elite will be in a 2.75 cu.ft ported enclosure tuned to 25Hz. I have ditched the rear fill Ti6 comps since they will only ruin the front stage, so I may be selling them soon along with the Ti500.4.

Install will hopefully be complete by the end of march or april time. The reason I'm so certain this time is  , because a professional shop will be installing all this for me.

hmm

I worry about that due to PLDs. Why not at least take advantage of the kicks w/ the 5" mids??

In my three-fours yrs of playing around w/ car audio, having 20 plus different installs the single most important thing I have found is to have your midrange speakers in the place that offers that best PLD.
