RSdC 10" and 12" mounting depth w/o magnet boot?
Anyone know their mounting depth without the magnet boots? I am hoping to use a pair of the 12's in my truck.

The magnet boot does not add any real depth to the unit. The only additional depth over the back plate is the minimum space required for proper venting.
You really don't want to block up the vent hole on the back, and the boot was designed to prevent this without adding any extra depth to the unit. This is not some cheesy plastic shroud intended to make the magnet look bigger and hence hogging up extra space.
The diameter of the magnet structure on both units is about 6.70".

Good to know, thanks. The only reason that I was wondering the depth without the magnet boot is because my enclosure will have a slanted front and if the boot sticks out too much on the edge it increases the mounting depth of that one particular area enough to not allow me to use it. So far the 10's look like a cadidate for me.OldSchoolFool wrote:5.80" and 6.24"
