I've got a P-9 set up that needs some attention. Was checking to see if anyone here might be interested/capable to work on these. I have a service manual (thanks Jim D!) that I could send along.
It seems there may be hardware and software issues with this.
Here is some of the quirks that have developed over time.
1. The transport doesn't like to eject the cd all the way. About 1 out of every 5 trys it will come all the way out.
2. Clicks and noises. There is a slight off pop in the mid output. I originally thought it was in the amp but had the amp serviced and I still have it. It may be present in the other channels but it's most noticable in the mids.
3. One particular function doesn't work and it drives me crazy. The face opens when the vehicle shuts down. Typical Pioneer. I've gone to the setting for that feature and turned it off but nether the less it still opens.
4. Recently started to intermittantly lose signal output. CD's continue to track but no output. I can rewind the track and it comes back?
I had the chassis of the DEX replaced due to cosmetics. It's possible some of the problems may be related to that service.
If anyone is interested let me know!
