monitors.... seen them on 6 degree's could change the world about 5 minutes ago and started looking for them gonna get me one. you can monitor the *vampire load* load of your appliance/tv or whatever WHILE ITS OFF. they showed one and it was drawing 110w while off... gonna check mine. I was just thinking that the other week how it looks like the screen is still on after the TV is turned off so it must still be drawing power... but now I get to monitor it also cell phone chargers and such 12v transformers are hot to the touch because they run 24-7 also, so if you want to save some money on the electric bill that may help... I'll have more money for beer and sounds now
energy saving, OT, but this is the hot spot on this forum :)

Our cellphone chargers are out of the wall unless charging the phones.
I'd be interested in knowing the power draw of a couple things in my place specifically,
1. Wife's mac mini setup, both while on and more importantly, while sleeping.
2. Receiver/TV stack, both on and off.
Everything else I either don't have control over or already have mostly responsible usage of. Our bulbs are low consumption and we turn off lights when not in use. Our fridge is apartment-provided so there's nothing we can or should do about that.
