What PG amp could I get for 2ohm mono?
What PG amp could I get for 2ohm mono?
I had plans to run one of my PG Titanium amps on my sub. I also want to keep my stock battery/alt. What PG amp could I find thats made to run at 2 ohms? PG Ti800.1 maybe? Thanks guys.
The only 2 ohm mono sub channel amps in the Ti series are the 900.7, 1200.1, and 800.1. You could theoretically bridge a 500.4 to a single DVC 4 ohm woofer, or a 600.2 or 400.2 could theoretically handle 2 ohms mono if you go soft on the gains.
Personally I would go with an 800.1. They're just so cute.

Just one JL10W6 in a sealed box for a mid size truck. I have a Ti600.2 but not sure if I want to use it because of the extra current it will pull.AVICJR wrote:Looks like just about any PG monoblock would work. What do you need/looking for?
Will an amp made to run at 2 ohms pull less current than the Ti at 2 ohms? Given its the same power of course.
Yes the 800 would be very nice, but I dont think that would fit under my seat. I havent seen any for sale anywhere.stipud wrote:The only 2 ohm mono sub channel amps in the Ti series are the 900.7, 1200.1, and 800.1. Yes its a 10W6v2, sorry about that. Its a D4. I looked at the new PG stuff and wasen't really into it. Seems like the quality isn't there anymore. I was thinking about using the Ti600.2 for my front stage and selling or trading my other amp for a sub amp that does around 500rms @ 2ohms mono like the Zapco Reference 500.1, JL 500/1, Alpine PDX600.1, etc,,dedlyjedly wrote:Isn't that sub a dual 6 ohm? Or do you mean a w6v2? For a single 10" w6 a Ti600.2 should be a good match. If you wanted to draw less current I'd recommend an RSD600.1.
I would put the quality of Xenon and RSD above Ti... and this is coming from a guy who collects Ti amps. The Ti's are very reliable because they are basically detuned ZX amps. Other than that, they are nothing special when compared to past and present top-end PG models.ELmx479 wrote:Yes its a 10W6v2, sorry about that. Its a D4. Only downside with RSD I can think of is that there's no LPLs on the 4 channel amps. The Xenons first batch was unreliable, but afterwards PG quality control started going over every amp, and the problem disappeared.
