arrays in a car?

Post by bdubs767 »

What do you guys think...

Something like two tweeters per pillar, two smaller mids per kick, two mids per door.

You can get away w/ smaller driver and being able to play your midrange lower and higher up w/o having to worry about beaming. Any thoughts...

Really thinking about trying two 1" tweeters per pillars, 2 3" mids per kick, and 2 6.5" subs per door.

I'm sure you're more than aware of the implications of reflections and canceling effects in a car... ;)

I've seen multiple midbass drivers in the door done with success. But not mids and tweets too. But I'm a fan of just trying anything and finding out for myself. Although building something only to tear it apart after you realize it's not working kinda sucks.

hmm, I don't think this goint to work.

reflections, more we don't have to tell you. A car is just a to small place to build up serious system. most people who have a 3-way system have problems with installing it because you have to place that 10cm mid. 6 speakers, just to much I think...

what else you can do (a friend is trying):
put a 20cm kickwoofer in the door. this is just for the low sections (let's say between 40-75hz). then a 16cm mid kickbas is taking over the kick + a little of the mid (not to much, because 16cm are not realy made for mid). then a 10cm mid is taking over to the higher sections, the tweeter goest to 25khz or more...

or you can try with double kick offcource
some white pg shit in my thrunk, love it!

Im going for it... why not.

Never really seen it before.

2 tweets per a-pillar
2 3" mids per kick
and a 6x9 sub per door or fire wall (basically kick)
