Classic SoundStream & Zapco & Orion value/demand

Post by denim »

I am curious why, maybe I guess it is the Internet bubble I am used to, SoundStream (pre-buyout), Orion (pre-DEI) and Zapco, why they just don't quite have the level of following or resell demand as classic PG's and Rockford amplifiers?
:?:

Curious to see what the PG heads say.

hmmm, I find that orion really hold value.... follow some HCCA's.... look what they go for now vs what they were new. Zapco's arent cheap either... some of the most expensive amps, even used.

Soundstreams seem to go cheap and not as much as a demand and I find Fosgates go really cheap too.... I watched punch 150's go for $50-$75
original Nickel MS1000 SOLD :(
Zapco 9.0 & 4.0 installed ;)

RF "POWER" brick-style amps still go for a pretty penny...

Those few amps that were PURE power hold $$$.....
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

It just seems like the PG's I want or RF's I am after (for example on ebay) fly well over what I am willing to bid faster then the others.

Zapco Studios are pricey and I love those amps. I am on the look out for a Burr Brown ZED Audio Draconia to match my Gladius and Deuce. The ZED amps, like the ESQ's seem to stay way up in value also.

Classic PG used to be a bargain until JOMA inflated the prices. Now everybody thinks they can get $2000 for a ZPA 0.5.

Really, Soundstream is cheap on eBay? I might have to change my allegiance... I friggin love classic SS amps :D
