Mounting an MS1000 with the board on display

Post by paulbfd »

What considerations need to be taken when mounting with the board on display?

I assume you can't mount it with the heatsink touching the back seat!

Sorely tempted Mark.

Need to get the tape measure out first and see if it'll fit!

Hey Paul; do you have a ms1000, or gonna buy one?
I would def. mount the backside in a "cooling tunnel" with a cilindrical shaped fan, like they use in electrical car-heaters; they really move a lot of air, and are low-noise.
I'm still waiting for your reply on those ms2125's; not getting anywhere so far. :?

Thinking about that one in the classifieds.

As soon as I can get my hands on a camera I'll get some pictures to you, I could send some from my phone but the quality is poor and I want to get you the best resolution I can so you're happy with what you're getting :)

I would like to, but I do not think that I want to use that kind of money now - coz this beauty would have ended on the wall - like Vin's...

I have had a measure up in my car and it's just going to be too big.

Gutted as it's a stunning piece of kit.

Which car is it and have you thought about mounting the amp in the floor. If you are worried about the fans I can provide you with 2x Stinger SF3N with the Stinger heat sensing module.
