4 Subs

Post by TigraTunerke »

I already have a PG ZX950 amp and 2 10" X-Max subs.
(Unfortunally not yet build-in, because I'm doing huge make-over
to my car)
Today I got a message from a frien with the question if I was
interested in buying another 2 10" X-Max subs.
I like lots of bass, so I'm very interested...

So, now I want to know if it's possible to connect 4 subs to my amp...
Will the amp be powerful enough?
Wiring?

Greetz,

Will you be using the entire amp to power the subs or will the 450 part of the amp power a set of high/mids? What kind of configuration are looking at?

Hook two subs per channel on the ZX500 side. 2 ohms parallel for each of them.

Only the ZX500 part will be used for the subs,
the ZX450 part will be used for the composets...

So it wont be a problem to connect 4 subs to the ZX500 part...

Then I think I will be mounting 4 subs in my little car soon...

No problem at all, in fact it will be a less stressful load for the amplifier to handle. Two subs = 2 ohm bridged = 1 ohm stereo... four subs = 2 ohm stereo. The amp is designed for 4 ohm bridged or 2 ohm stereo, so it will be perfect.
