Hello all, I have a few questions about the ZX475.4ti
I have it running my Boston Pro's bi-amped right now, does the amp really pull 60amps of current at full power when running mids/highs? Well, that question could be for any amp running mids/highs vs. a sub.
I would like to run it bridged to see how they sound with 250rms per side. Could I do that with only using one set of RCA's and still have left/right balance?
A few ZX475.4 questions
Well the specs say 60amps stereo and 80amps bridged. But I was just wondering that fact with all amps because I never see lights dim with the mid/high amp.Bfowler wrote:i think that 60amps is assuming a duel bridged @ 4ohms
and yes, you should befine with the one left and right RCA (but the amp will see them as front and rear)
How would I do the bridged mode while still having left/right on my HU?
I tried a set BA Z5 bridge (3 Ohms) with a ZX475ti. My amp was putting out about 350 Watts x 2 with a 3 Ohm Load. First it was insanely loud and I was using ear plugs to make adjustments and 2nd my sub wasn't keeping up. I had no idea when I was going to turn it up that loud so I end up elimating an amplifier.
A splitter would work. I was using the sub's amp RCA outputs (ZX400ti) to generate the 2nd set of signals.

Wow! how was it putting out so much? I thought Ti amps didn't really put out much more below 2ohms stereo/4ohms bridged?dgoodhue wrote:I tried a set BA Z5 bridge (3 Ohms) with a ZX475ti. I have it running active on the BA Pro's now. I'm thinking its putting 100 to each mid (3ohms) and about 40ish to the tweeters (8ohms)??
It gets pretty loud while staying clean like that plus the adjustablity is nice so I will most likely stay active.
