ANYONE XPERIENCE PROTECT??? red led ???

I have 1/o gauge running from my battery(fused) to a stinger gel battery then my power (4gauge)goes from the stinger to my ti 500.4(for mids and highs), then another power(4 gauge) wire from the stinger to my ti1200.1(3 diamond audio 10s)= yesterday for the first time both amps went into protect, granted its just gotten very humid here in orlando in the last 2 days- so, i pull out my multimeter, i check the ground and power at 500.4(it reads 13.20-13.70-same reading off of the ti1200.1 power and ground, so then i proceed to unscrew the speaker wires from the terminals of the mids and highs, and the multimeter shows 4.1 ohms on all 2 sets of ti elites, then i unscrew the sub speaker wire from the terminals and the subs read 2.6-3.0(3 diamond d6 dual 4ohm subs, so then i check the battery voltage(12.7-13.1), anybody, any ideas?????? it only goes into protect once i go past half volume???? the ti 1200.1 is new, and it replaced my old ti1200.1(which i did hook up 2day to see if it was the amp, and same thing happened, then i thru in my rsd 1200.1, same result- i checked ground at my sony cdx c90, it was good, and the amps grounds, and they were good!????? help!!!!! SOS

if the vcs bad i believe the multimeter would of registered half thyre actual ohms????! the highs and mids read 4.1-4.3ohms, and the subs read 2.6-3.1ohms(3 10 dual 4s should read 2.66 ohms); however i was just doublechecking my grounds(for 5th time 2day, and im ashamed to admit this, i guess for some dumb ass reason i added an extra three feet of 10gauge speaker wire, (like a dumb ass, i just used electrical tape, anyways they were tucked underneath my amp rack in the audi a4 wheel well, i just unhooked them and put the other end of speaker wire, which had enough length , directly to my sub amp, and now its jammimg at 3/4 volume in my garage for last 15 minutes and has not gone into protect once!!!! the other end of wire, which was an actual extra 3 feet, not needed, you can see BURN MARKS inside the wire jackets, must of some how ground out on the wheel well, shutting both amps down-i think im lucky iddint loose both amps!!!!!!
