Mono or Stereo sub output to Octane R8.0:1?

I am using both left & right output of my Alpine 9833 connecting to Octane R8.0:1 mono amp, which is powering 2 image Dynamic sub.
Wondering if I select "mono" sub setting in my 9833, will it actually sum L & R inside 9833, & sum it again in R8.0:1?
Or should I select "Stereo"sub setting in my 9833, assume it will be sum by Octane R8.0:1?

Either setting will have the same effect. The amp will sum whatever signal you give it.

Yep...I remember that amp being VERY install friendly.

Almost dummy proof if you will.
