Pioneer Network Mode QUestion:AVH-P7800DVD

Hello Again Everyone, it's summer, allllll of my VW repairs are finally out of the way as of today when I completed my rear shocks and I want to revamp my audio system a little.

I just sold my Avh-P7600DVD to replace it with the new Pioneer flagship: P7800DVD...which is badass.

The question I have is about the unit's "Network Mode" vs. the "Standard Mode". What the heck is the difference? The manual doesn't differentiate them more than saying you can use network or std mode.

The only difference in the features looks like std mode allows auto ta and eq and network shows that you can select your seat position.

Anyone know what the deal is with these or have another good audio forum they know of that might have an answer...not that any forum would ever be better than ours but I don't know how many Pioneer fans there are here : ).

The manual DOES tell you the difference! Network mode allow you to run a two way active system form your front channels. Thats why there is 2 pair of RCA for the front channel. Standard mode is just that, standard for passive setup. I have used 7500dvd, 7600dvd and current 7800dvd. The two older models sounded better than the 7800dvd. And none of them can touch the Alpine iva-w505 in the SQ department.

Well I looked the manual back and forth up and down...seriously and didn't see it but I had a feeling it might have been for an active setup, I have a Clarion unit as well that allows this type of setup.

Well I am impressed by the 7800 and so far I think it sounds better, especially in ipod mode, than the 7600, but I am running them with only a small amp and 2 coaxes at the moment so my impression could be skewed : )...and I would never doubt Alpine, I just really took a liking to Pioneer while owning the 7600.
