Damn... FAS at 14? What were you, a drug dealer? ;)

When I was 14, I could barely scrape together enough change to buy slurpees
dad used to bank back in the 90s, and he asked me if I wanted one after he bought a full Digi-Max/Class A system for his Porsch. I was like what is it? ( I didn't know crap about stereos~ I was into RC cars...) He said the owner of the shop said there were 2 left at PG and if I wanted one, he'd have to order it the next day or so, and I said well if its good then go ahead! (who am I to turn down a pimp ass gift?) So it sat in the glorious crate behind my EZ chair in my room till I was 15.95, and it went in my first car. It was finished on my 16th birthday, and I've never looked back. Only amps I've ever owned were PGs...

Drug dealer, no, spoiled kid in Silicon Valley, yes, but those were the good ole days, now I'm just poor and in a lot of debt trying to keep up with my old lifestyle... but I'm having a lot of fun along the way!

Just heard a lot of how they sold out, went mainstream etc etc. I haven't honestly heard any huge differences from new ones since I heard they went mainstream... I also haven't A/Bed em in the same car either, so it's hard to tell from different setups etc.

I am sorry if I offended anyone.

haha, no worries dude. it takes a lot to get us to resort to petty flaming.

LOTS of people are quick to put the "sell out" tag on PG after the moved production to china.

which is a valid argument for most companies that do this because that normally means they stop engineering and design in house and they are now picking generic parts from a catalog (i want smooth cone, with a chrome 12" basket...that can handle 500 watts...build it up)

PG on the other had still has lots of the old engineers to create very specific instructions for what they want the factories to build. they actually use the same build house as JL

i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...

Good info! I don't hate em anymore. :D Not to say I am buying all new gear, but I wouldn't be against it if the time came. I have too much MS and TI stuff to not use. :?

no, the legend goes that a customer WANTED 3 of them and was willing to pay the price, but the engineer that designed it had left PG on bad terms and the were never able to recreate it because of all the custom tooled parts
