Are there any drawbacks when under utilizing an amp?
I am thinking of running a 400x2 amp to power my TI6 Elites, but would only push 300x2 (rated power) to them so I don't blow or burn them.
My worry is that under utilizing this amp might be inefficient, and not make the speakers sound as nice as an amp that is rated for 300x2.

^^ what he said. It's called "headroom". Better too much clean power than too little and therefore distortion.
