Power Wire - Should I Look For Something Special?

Post by maka78 »

I'm planning on replacing my 0/1 GA power wire, but not sure what to get. The reason I wanna change this wire is because (1) it's a cheap wire (2) dust comes out of it when I splice it and (3) my powercore actually shows a lower voltage reading than my battery, meaning too much resistance in the wire has formed.

Should I be looking for anything special in a power wire? Why are the prices so different b/w different pairs? I thought wire is wire, and they all conduct the same.

Thanks in advance!

I like Stinger 0 GA HPM power wire. So far I haven't had any problems with it. Plus I like the fact that its very flexible and also when you splice it dust doesn't come out. :D J/K

Here's where I purchased mine from. They seam to have good prices plus they ship really quick.

Judging by the picture, looks very similar to knukonceptz fleks kable.

I use elemental design 1/0 gauge and like it...
I have heard that the KnuKoncepts, Kicker, and Stinger, are all pretty good..., never expirienced the PG Powerflow.. but have heard that it is pricey...

What I see alot of people doing is buying the kicker amp kits and keeping the 1/0 ga, and then parting out the balance of parts and making out like a bandit. That kicker wire is very nice/good

Screw Monster cable - I dont like their business practices and hyped marketing BS,

Had something to do with the insanely large URL in his post. I set it to a shorter URL and its showing up fine now. Interesting.

He had a problem with the URL tags, dunno why it caused NOTHING to show though.

It's been fixed.

The 0/1 kits were like $50 at the last sale IIRC but ask Brian as he bought a couple. It also comes with tons of install goodies. :D
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

I do not think so because the new Powerflow series wire is relatively new Take a look at your dads 1/0 wire for a clearly maked power flow writing . i do however like those AKItones , one of the best amp kits at a good price now a days
