basically you looking for a response in your vehicle that will yeild a really smooth graph
so what you would normally do is build a box that yeilds a smooth roll off and then with the cabin gain of the car will bring your low end up just enough were the total incar response is real flat.

that is why sealed boxes work well becasue they have high roll off freq and a gradual roll off. so with cab gain and depending on how you alter
the q of the box you can get a really nice and tight sound that is not overwhelming at any one frequency.

A 3db rise from 20-30 hz is not insignificant, is it?

so wait what size box did u end up going with 1.2 or 1.8 and i was wondering does the 1.2 or 1.8 cf does that include the volume of the sub in the box or do u have to add that volume to calculate the size of the box

bdubs used a 1.8^3 box before displacement. So roughly 1.6^3 with the sub installed .
