Ported bass reflex box for 2 rsd 12'' ???

Post by Morfijum »

Ok hello to everyone

My name is Marko Petrov from Serbia

I have registered today on this phorum,

Soo this is my problem,,,

I have bought two of Phoenix Gold RSd12d

I want to make Bass reflex ported box for my car,

I have Mercedes A160 w168 as i measured the limits for the box i can place there is X 90cm----Y 50cm----Z 42cm

1 inch is ----2.54 cm

as i calculated over the Rockford fosgate web site that is 144liter for two speaker's ~~~~ 5.1 cu.feet

And on the specification for the woofer they said it is good for ported box 1.8---3.6 cu.feet for one speaker

i think that 5.1 cu feet for 2 speaker will be fine,,,

what do you think?

and i have a problem with port's i can not decide what Fi (kind of port to use)

Should i use 2 ports x 5 inch(5x2.54= 12.7 cm )

OR one PORT of 16 cm = 6.3 inch

All 2 kind of port's are 13.8 cm long

and 75% of peoples here is saying to me to use bigger port and only one if i want to make box for db drag

So from your experience what do you say?

and how can i measure the HZ in my box

Ty so much

we would have to run your box in a software simulator like bass box. mine isnt installed on my computer right now, but im sure someone can mock it up for you

if you click on the unit of measure, you should be able to change it to metric depending on version

5.1 cuft should be good enough. I am confused about your ports though. You say they are 16cm or 12.7cm, and 13.8cm long? Are they round? Are they flared at the end?

port's are rounded and i think about two different types
1. Fi = 12cm
2. Fi = 16cm

This on the picture Fi = 12cm and he is 13.8 cm long

should i place these two or one of 16 cm ,the friends told that fo more DB it is better one of 16 cm and for better sound two of 12''

Is that the diameter inside the tube, or outside? We need the inside diameter.
