So since I couldn't find a TLD-66 6 channel line driver and after reading someone else's input on the audio control line driver they had I went ahead and bought the http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0274824587 Audiocontrol Matrix 6 channel line driver. Looks easy to use and I think it will do really well. Sucks I couldn't get a PG Line driver but I think this will do good. I can't wait to install it. I am going to have Arx-820 from HU to line driver and Arx-860s from Linedriver to back of car. basically full PG great interconnects so I can't wait!

So I was reading in the manual and it says you can select balanced and unbalanced for the inputs. What is the difference and which one should I do?

Balanced Input Selector: Located under the cover and behind the
Input connectors are jumpers that allow you to utilize or bypass the
balanced input circuitry. Although it is shipped in the balanced mode,
which is best, it may be necessary to change this depending upon the
configuration of the components you use. To change this, move the
appropriate jumper on the 3-pin header.

Also it has a neat thing I believe that if you have alt whining or ground noise it eliminates it by doing something to the ground maybe someone else can better explain it.

9. Ground Isolation Selector: This feature allows you to change the
power supply ground for different systems. When the Matrix is shipped
from the factory, the selector is in the fully isolated position(which is
generally the best.) Alas, not every manufacturer (or installer) devotes
much time into getting their grounds right. Therefore, we have provided
other ground isolation options to help if you have a ground loop noise
(alternator whine) in your system. Experiment with different settings if
you run into this type of problem. To change the settings, make sure you
turn the system off, carefully move the black jumper from the center two
pins(Isolated) and move it to either the top two pins(200 ohms) or the
bottom two pins(ground).

Ok thats all hahaha

You go balanced when your HU has a balanced output. If your HU doesn't have a balanced output your only choice is to use unbalaced. Simple as that :)

Edit: Many of PG processors have the ground isolation as well.

So great... I am guessing that I have to go unbalanced because I have the

kenwood excelon-x592 and I don't think that it is balanced. So does that mean I have to configure the linedriver to unbalanced then? Any consequences if i dont and leave it balanced? I wish I had a balanced output from my head unit :(

I don't think that the SLD-44 had the ground isolation or balanced capability so already lookin fly.

update : So I ran new PG arx860 and arx8 series 6 footers as well so now RCAs from HU are PG and from new matrix line driver are PG all 8 series too :)

Also I use to have alt whine but TOTALLY ELIMINATED NOTHING NO HISS NO NOTHING! YES OMFG YES PWNAGE! I was so happy that was my main gripe. PG RCAs ROCK! I was going to run new 12 volt power and ground from my ground/power spots in the back instead of branching off of the HU power and ground but FUCK IT because now its eliminated so it wasn't because I branched off of the HU power ground like i thought it was.

I also have the usb mounted in my glove box flush where my hole used to be for the RCAs to go into the glove box from the HU for when my line driver was in the glovebox. But I put my line driver underneath the driver seat for easy accecss by sliding my seat back and easy to run the RCAs.

OH and I put in my new Kenwood kdc-x592 and it sounds great. I can tell a diff in clarity must be the 24-bit DA converters and I used it only for 2 mins so I have to adjust everything especially time correction. I am used to hearing the vocals in front of me not to my left.

Just in case you are lost here is a list of what I did today :

-put in new kenwood kdc-x592
-Ran new 8 series RCAs from HU to line driver and from line driver to amps
-have access to USB port for ipod :)
-put in matrix line driver 6-channel so now i have high voltage to front/rear/and my sub which will be good for when I drop in my xenon 1200.1 (I have rsd600.1 now)

Its cool cuz all gains are ZEROD out on the amps EVEN THE SUB amp which it used to be about 3/4 up with my alpine deck. PRETTY STOKED!

I'm a happy camper. I paid for all these and I can't wait for christmas and my birthday dec 27th i am gunna pimp out my ride and have it FUCIN BANGIN!
