Amp problem please help

Post by Billy Sacco »

Ok well my xenon 200.2 stopped putting out sound. I think I know what may have happened but not completely sure. I think the RCAs going to it got grounded to the chasis (stupid me forgot to put electrical tape on them last time I was messing with them). Anyway I opened the amp up and the only damage I can see is some burns around what I think is a resistor.

I pointed a red arrow to what has the burns around it. Nothing else looks burnt. I know its a tough question but is this hard or expensive to repair. Is it possible that this isn't the only thing wrong? Thanks all for any help.

if that is burnt, it is almost garonteed it is not the only thing burnt.

however, have you tried hooking it up to other sources (maybe a home sterio or ipod) to make sure it isnt just your cables

Well when I saw the cables looked like they were touching the metal next to my head unit I insulated them and tried a different amp and that was working ok so I think the cables and connection and stuff should be ok.
