The amps will not be encased and Im thinking slightly raised
to let air flow underneath.
I dont know how hot these xenons will get but I know with
PC's that mother boards tend to build up heat underneath.
From looking at my amps which are esentially the same thing that
these amps will benefit from some extra cooling.
Especially in the summer months here in FL.
Each amp will definitely get 4 or 6 120 x 25mm Yate Loon fans mounted
to the amp rack directly underneath the amps.
I just dont know if I should pull or push the air.
Im kinda leaning towards push since the amps will be slightly elevated.
Also I dont know if this will make a difference but the ports of the box
will be firing in the direction of the amp rack (towards the tailgate of the truck)
and from all the youtube vids of hair/shirt tricks, the ports seem like
they would aid in the circulation of air in the cargo area.

Push or Pull config external fans for Xenons.?
If your subs are pushing air thru the ports accross the amp rack, then probably having the fans pull the air out the same way...or push....however the air is running accross the amp rack would be the way you want your fans to go as well. That way you are not stagnating the air. Also depending on the subs, the subs may be blowing warm air as well....so it may not be extremely helpful for it to blow accross the amps unless you can get some cool air...but I suppose any air is better than no air (Unless it is really warm/hot air)

the xenon's internal fans intake through the top, and exhaust through the sides. so if you were to run extra fans, i would run exhaust fans on the far ends of the amps so that the internal fans are pulling in cooler air.

if you are going to add a fan or two you might help it a little, but 4-6 fans is just taking power from your amp and possibly adding noise. Unless you are going to run low impedences for long periods it really isn't going to get you much. When I do a project I like to think about when it is finished, what is the time and work going to buy me? In this case it isn't going to buy much imo.

Re: Push or Pull config external fans for Xenons.?
I've gotta 600.1 mounted to a carpet covered board and I run my subs hard a lot of times and my amp never really gets hot. At best, just very warm and the way my amp is currently mounted, the top of the amp is right up against the rear seat backs. I live in the DC Metro area and it gets HOT around here in the summer (temps + humidity) and I've never had any issues with my Xenon overheating at all.4Nine wrote:The amps will not be encased and Im thinking slightly raised
