New RTA program

Post by joyride »

My brother found this program on a home theater site. I havent really played around with it, but it shows some promise. Best yet, its FREE! I have to wait until I get my mic back to really get some use out of it.

Well, it looks good, but having to register at a forum to dowload the files? No thanks. Apparently the will is not to distribute for free...

You could also upload here if you like.

There's an idea! :D

I'd honestly like to try it out, but not if it takes yet another username/password account.

I didnt even think about uploading it here. The program is only 2.5 megs, so it should work. I havent played around much with it becasue my brother has my mic, but it has some interesting features.

Apparently the forum will not allow .exe files to upload. I zipped it, so hopefully it will work for you guys.

Almost all web sites want you to register (Mostly for free) to download anything these days and the worst part of all is you have to have a valid email address so you can check the email and then validate your account to activate it. The early days you could just type in joe@aol.com and grab the files and be on your way. Not these days though.

I guess that's why I have a junk email account for things like this :D

Windows.

It should just download to your desktop.

Try right click, save as.

So I dl-ed this program. Installed it. It's hella-complicated since I never used one before. Not sure I understand what I am looking at or how to get the info I need to see the places that would need to be equalized.

Anyone else use a program or this program that can help me out. Of course I don't have a good mic yet but I was just trying to figure some stuff out using a cheap mic just to get used to using the program.

For those intersted in a RTA, look into the Behringer DEQ2496. It's a pro audio digital EQ, w/ built in rta and pink noise generator. Great unit, w/ 61 bands rtaing, and is the perfect solution to RTA if your looking for an eq to use in the home also. Kinda like killing two birds with one stone :D
