Stock Speaker size - '93 Honda Accord EX

Post by HoseHead »

Dudes,
A friend has the above car and wishes to upgrade the factory paper coners. Anyone have experience with this car? What size speakers does he need for all four corners? I've convinced him the best value is Rsd comps, but need to know the size. He's a bit of a layman and is adament they are 6". Please advise. Your time is appreciated.

HH
The only stupid question is the one not asked .......

Actually, it depends on the trim level of the car. Some had a 4" in an enclosure and some had 6". If it is a nicer trim like and LX or EX, it will have the 4". However, simply take out the enclosure and you can install a 6". Might need a spacer, but you can definitely do a 6". The back is 6x9, but the fit will depend on wether it is a 4 or 2 door. One version has more depth available but I can't remember which one. Has to do with the rods that hold up the trunk lid.

Front doors are a 5 1/4' for the drop-in size. There is a plate there that can be removed to make room to fit a 6 1/2".
