Boston G3

Post by waynehead »

Has anyone heard these. I really like the old pro 12.x's These look just as well built and I am considering running one off of my xs2300 instead of the sapphire. The sapphire is very...musical. But even in a 3.8 cuft box it is in it lacks the impact I am used to with some songs after having an IdMax on a x600.1. Not sure if I want to run a g3, hook my old IdMax back up on 300 watts, or buy a rsdc. It weighs slightly on how the 6x9's work out in my doors. If they dont work well then all bets are off and I might do something drastic. anyone have advice suggestions?

I've never heard a G3, but I did prefer the RSDC to my IDMax FWIW

Yeah thats one sapphire if thats what you meen. 3.8 cubes is what they say yeilds the best transient response. It sounds good but I feel like the sapphire could be used as a midbass driver compared to the Max.

Thank you stipud, If my dude scorpio86 decides he wants to use that boston than I am picking up an rsdc. It would probaly work better in this setup than the old Idmax as well. That thing is a one sided sword. Gobs of bottom end but nothing about 50 really stands out on it. I listen to a good bit of jazz, bluegrassy stuff sometimes. I need midbass in my life and the IdMax NEEDS midbass in its life. I dont know if the 6x9's have it either. Time will tell 8)
