X600.1

Post by KnightWhoSaysNI »

Hey! just got my first PG amp Woo Hoo!!! A good old X600.1 BNIB However I was a little underwhelmed about the birthsheet 612w@ 4 ohms. Yes I know Im spoiled for not just being happy that it does rated but I thought these things were underrated? Did I just get a whimpy one?

All X600.1's will produce around 800 wrms. That is a handwritten birth sheet correct? The later birth sheets were computer generated and had the true wrms.

the xenon amps had a bit of a confusing history. the first run that came to pg from the build house had those generic birth sheets. they had a problem with not enough solder and part were falling off the boards. pg fixed all of these and and in the future runs, they checked over them and released their own birthsheets. at 13.8 volts, it is definitely putting out over 800 watts.

enjoy! i love the xenon amps, and use a 600.1 myself

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. Just out of curiosity has anyone done an independent bench test on their own X600.1???

Also why do I feel I am the only person in the forum that only owns one Phoenix Gold amp??? :P Guess it's kinda like air cooled volkswagon owners, they love their cars to death and dont own one they own five...
