The one you have you can hook up a ZRDT3 into it, but not an RMD. RMD won't work, mhyde and Joerg tried it. You can however mod yours to work with an RMD.

ZRDT3 or whatever are status led's like the amps have (red, green, yellow), but not in a fancy box type package/presentation.
:hmm: I was unaware of that, thanks for the heads up! How do you mod it to work with an RMD? I am interested in that...
Wanna see some pics?

Sounds good, I will have something cool to look at when I wake up! Thanks dude!

So instead of making things harder and trying to figure out how to bypass the switch, I will just use the relay to control the ground   I am just applying the K.I.S.S. principal here :) Turn on the stereo and the relay closes the ground turning it on, turn off the stereo and it opens the ground and turns it off. I think that will work best :) I have a bunch of relays just kicking around, so no cost there! :D

For reference, but I have a feeling that this will have something to do with what Joerg is going to show me :D

Correct me if I am wrong :) Verifies my relay idea as well

That´s the solution right there! 8)

All u need to do is take the black phone plug out of the distro, connect the black and green wire to the ground and on the yellow and red wire to 12V

Ok, so after reading and thinking about this, the only thing that is really required is the RMD cable, and this got me thinking some more, so I re-read the post I referenced to earlier and this was what I was thinking, and it was mentioned by ttocs:
ttocs wrote:As he said this is nothing more then a volt-meter so why not just use a small wire off of + input to the dist block, and just ground the other side. You can use a relay to make a switched ground to turn off the display when either the deck or key is off. I know it doesn't use the RMD port like you wanted but this would not risk the internals of the block, and still read the voltage at the block. You could get a female jack and then just wire off of that.
So this is what I was looking for. What I will end up doing is using some ring terminals to connect the power and ground wires from underneath the fuse block, and then using a female phone jack end (so I can plug/unplud the RMD into it) on the end of that inside the housing so that I can connect a normal phone jack up to it. Pics are a thousand words...

Image

Then I will just make a new small hole in the case just big enough for the phone wire to come out of so I can disconnect it easily. This combined with the relay should work out best! No soldering required (except for the ring terminals, not necessary, but I will do it anyways :)) What do you think?

If u put the red and yellow wire where u marked it the RMD will go dark when the fuse blows! 8)

Good point, I will just run another wire from the other one and use them both. That way they both have to blow before it would go out :) Wait... FIRE HAZARD!! That would mean that the little wire would then be the fuse, if one of the fuses would blow! Bad idea! I won't be doing that!

Oh well, if it goes out it's a easy way to tell if the fuse is blown. No RMD means bad/blown fuse! Early warning system :)

Thanks for all your help bro! I am actually going to be doing this mod for a friend of mine as well. He's got the same dblock and the RMD that is just waiting to get installed. So knowing what I know now it won't be a problem!
