A picture would help, I also have a couple of 600.2's I can take a look at if you need to compare values. You need to know how those four resistors are in circuit (parallel or series or combination) in order to use other values. If someone changed the values they probably knew what they where doing so if the resistors are in series than the value increases so 2.5 + 2.5 would equal 5ohms therefore they used a single 5ohm resistor instead of two 2.5's. Again you have to look at the circuit and see if this is acceptable, while your in there why not check all fuse type resistors as those don't show any signs of damage when they change value or blow open.
