sorry to double post. Xenon 600.1 Purchased!!! Just out of curiosity, would that also power RSD12?? The RSD10 enclosure is going to be tiny!! I plan on fitting it into the side of the boot, near the wheel arch in a fibreglass enclosure. 0.5 Cu Ft If I'm correct, any specific considerations regarding sub position? Eg. I guess it doesnt what its base / magnet flat against a solid surface?
Thanks chaps.
Matt
Xenon X10D2, any good?

all correct ^ the rsd10 will love every drop of power you can give it. do not have any reservations about powering it with the 600.1.
you have just recreated my system! (i run the 12...but i am redoing the trunk to accommodate a rsdc12 i was lucky enough to come by)
from recent experience, i would suggest upgrading to a single rsd12 if you find that the rsd10 isn't enough rather then to the pair of 10's
the xenon can run safely at any ohm load from 1-4, but it makes the most power and is most efficient at 4ohms so you will want to match a 4ohm sub to it if possible.

yeah thanks for all your advice.
It's definately between the rsd10 or 12. I want minimal space, but is there a huge step of difference between 12 and 10? I've always been a 15" guy so i'm in new territory!! I plan on knocking a couple of sub templates up and testing them in the boot. Would the 600.1 be good to go on a 12? or would it be underpowered?

The x600.1 will be a great amp with plenty of power for either the 10" or the 12" rsd. Hell, depending on your listening preferences you may even power a pair of either of those subs.
The ONLY drawback when considering the 12" rsd is the size of the enclosure needed. Aside from that limitation I always recommend the 12" over it's 10" counterpart. So I recommend you weigh your priorities. If enclosure size can be compromised to accommodate lower frequency response and a little more output then the 12" would appear to be a clear winner.
What 15" subs have you used in the past?

bad ones!! I had a longmill a long time ago, and recently an in-phase, which was an inferior make, though it served me well. I dont have bass high in my system, but I decided in my next purchase I fancied something tighter and punchier. I'm going to have a good long look at the rear this weekend and see which sub's the best fit, and I'll go off that. I'll let you know which I go for!!

nope it would be prefect.
I have run as little as 300 watts to them with great results.
the 10 and 12 use the same motor/spider/magnet so their power ratings are pretty similar.
the 12 isn't really that much louder then the 10. it just seems to do a better job of hitting the note that makes you think your car is going to shake apart making it feel quite a bit more powerful
