MS275 2ohm Mono ???
MS275 2ohm Mono ???
According the the manual the 275 is stable to 2 ohms mono. Any one done it and know the power output?

On music you might get an extra 30% or so power, by running at the lower impedance. However, the amp will run much hotter, put far more strain on its components, etc. It may need fans to keep cool.
I would rather see you run an MS2250 to each sub personally. I think they can take the juice... and worst case you can just keep the gains down a bit.

Sorry to dig this thread up again but it's relevant to me.
Do you think it's safe to run a 2250TA in 2 ohm mono? (for a pair of 4ohm subs). I don't want it getting to hot and causing it stress! Poor thing
Or else I can just as well use two of my spare MS275 amps in the same space - one amp for each 4ohm sub (so I guess about 280 RMS per sub)

Yes, but you will need to fan cool the amp and also prepare your electrical system cuz it will draw quite a bit of current. At 2 ohm mono the TA's will do ~1500 watts.KUB3 wrote:Do you think it's safe to run a 2250TA in 2 ohm mono? (for a pair of 4ohm subs). I don't want it getting to hot and causing it stress! Re: MS275 2ohm Mono ???
I think i remind that the user manual says that the MS275 goes into overload when it reaches 360WRms? I may be wrong of course.GX3 wrote:According the the manual the 275 is stable to 2 ohms mono. Any one done it and know the power output?

even though your subs are rated at 300 rms the dynamic headroom u will have running 1500 watts will be benificial, music has dynamic passages that will require more instantanous power.. if u are gonna listen to music then this wont be a problem, but if u are gonna listen to bass music or with a bass enhancement devise cranked then yeah u will probably warm those coils up a bit.
i would do it, i really dont think u will have a problem and the TA will take a two ohm load with no problems.

You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!
i still reckon you would be fine with a pair of ms275's bridged on each sub...
but since you got the 2250 coming use that
