70% gain sounds a bit high. What's your deck? Do you have an LPL?

Turn it down and see if it stops happening. You might be overloading the amp and causing it to scale back power.

haha..!! def. not that...had the remote in my hand...and it wasn't the whole system decreasing...just the subs... and sparatic...

I got in the back with the system on and tried vibrating the amp, and all the wires...no effect... Im concerned to be honest... :?

will do...I'll try that tomorrow. Im thinking the voltage from my HU may not be very strong...cause I know the 600 TI has plenty of power ...

yes I do have an LPL...works fine... is it normal to get a little "thump" out of the subs when you turn the LPL up all the way ??/ I've never done it with the music volume all the way down before today...no biggie...more concerned about the other issue... obviously.

And that SLD44 came through an authorized dealer too!! No gray market product for you!

Use the ground at the amp terminal when testing for appropriate voltage so as to also confirm the ground's potential. If those are both good, I would also double-check speaker wires for solid connections and then meter for resistance across the speaker as you gently push it in and out by hand to make sure that the circuit isn't opening up and thus reducing the load on the amp.

If you have the normal output level as a reference is it getting louder or quieter when you hear the issue? Or is it just all over the board? How often does it occur? Any other details you can share?

not really sure what else to add...

hm... well it started 2 days ago, and up until then the amp has been flawless... was listening to a track I've listened to a thousand times and it just, well the subs got louder...went back to normal and then slowly drained off to almost nothing...and slowly came back. operated normal for a little while and did the same again...there wasn't like a pattern or any commonality to it at all ...always random...

it seems odd that it would work normally for so long , then start to act up...

and I've never had to test the voltage outputs and all that before so I'll need help if thats something I should really do...

Try turning your gain, bass, and crossover knobs up and down a few times. I know the ZX series had issues with corrosion that caused weird things like this. The Ti line has more reliable pots, but it's still a possibility.

so I checked all the levels on my Ti today... I think the vibration from the box may have jiggled the knobs a tad... turns out the gain was closer to 80% the crossover was higher than I wanted, and the bass boost at close to +6db.. again  so I can see why The amp would drain down like that... so I reset everything, didn't have the issue all day so Im thinking its good...and it still wayyyy louder than I'd ever want with the LPL up all the way...tons of headroom...

discoverd the problem today... its my LPL...somethings whacked with the connections on the back of the knob,... if you put upward pressure on ithe know the volume goes to where it should be, let off the pressure it seriously decreases...will be opening up the dash to asses the problem this afternoon/evening...

pissed but relieved at the same time... the Ti is fine.. :)

the solider connections are known to be weak points...you should be able to re solder them

Yeah I've had to resolder mine a good 5-6 times now. Pretty much any time I remove it, it seems to break.

The new ones actually have a phone jack on the back so you don't have this problem anymore 8)
