How far we have come. Getting ready to Drive to Chicago tomorrow for a funeral. So i decide to pull out the old school Kicker i put in my vehicle wile my better half uses it for work. I can't believe my eyes. Keep in mind the title of this post. This box your about to see came in a car i bought around 2000 a 91 T-Bird SC. I pulled the box out of the car and it has been sitting in a corner for years. Its a 10" kicker comp good ass sub ......... at the time! I wanted to drop in a X10D just as a quick replacement for the trip too much work to put my 4 TI10s back in) This is what i found

yes that is an 18GA speaker wire in a partial board box
i put this in so my subs wouldn't end up getting damaged. I wondered why this thing always sounded so bad. i thought maybe due to the age. i think the 18ga speaker wire had a little something to do with it. So i put the X10 in ( yes i used this same box dont have the time today to build one) and replaced the speaker wire with 10GA. It sounds just a bit better
Had to share i got a good laugh when I pulled the kicker out and set it next to the X10
