A good friend of mine owns a shop making tooling for injection molds. I talked with him about making the plastic parts on these MS amp terminals and he was all for it. I began work on the project, but when I lost my job I lost all my disposable hobby income. If there is sufficient interest in it, a mold can be made and MANY parts created. Additionally he educated me on the world of plastics and these could be made from stuff which is virtually indestructible. My plan was to make MS2125 type power and speaker terminals, plus newer style MS275 speaker terminals. They can be shot in any color as well.
My friend only makes the tooling. He does not inject the plastic. Injecting the plastic would be affordable once the tooling exists.
What he needs from me is an exact CAD model of what I want to mold. He then uses it to quote the cost to make the tooling. I anticipate the tooling to be $1000 but that is a complete guess. His shop is really slow right now and he would probably do it for much less.
I started work on the CAD model for a MS speaker terminal but gave up when I lost my job. I figured I would never come up with the money to have the tooling made, so why work on a CAD model for nothing.
