OK guys so a while back I did a post on my old soundstream REF300 asking if anyone knew what I could do to fix it cause it wouldnt power up at all. I took pics of the board and there wasnt really any signs of failure or whatever shouldnt be there except that slight brown area on a Diode or a Resistor cant remember which is which. So before I go to work today I decided to do a CAP upgraded. Too see if that might be the problem and also replace that slightly little brown whatever majiggy (I know ha-ha). Anyways I pulled the caps and all the little resistors, cap, and diodes in the area of that slightly brown one to replace cause I figured if that thing went bad then I sure a few other things allong the path of that prob got stessed so Im going to replace all of them in that path. So I pulled that little brunt one and all the others and guess what theres a little brown path area underneath all the ones I pulled when held up tp the light to see through the board (and yes it was there before I pulled and desoldered it all) and so I turned over the little brown on and guess what I see Its BAD so guys have a look at my pics and let me know what you think. Also this is my first fix and I got this amp for free so if it doesnt turn out to work then its know loss to me except a bad free REF300 which I hope and pray will work cause they are almost up there with old school PG lines. But Ill be stoping at radioshack to see if I can pick up some of these replacements and then Ill be off to work. I wont be back on to sees yalls replies untill bout 1100pm EST I hope this creates allot of BUZZ with u pro's and vets on here LOL TTYL thanx in advance again
