Well, right off the bat I think it hits harder than my old sub, (I can feel it in my chest), and plays a lot "tighter". How many hours do I have to log on it before it's considered "broken in"?

I dunno, really.

Feels like mine got better over at least a month, but that could very well be psychoacoustics playing tricks with me.

The brightness of the RSDCs will stay for awhile. Depending on your power your giving it and how long you pound it up uid say 2 weeks . But I would give or take 8 hours.

It has a nicer punch then the Xmax that it replaced. This is in a .65 cuft enclosure with a 2125. I may have to build a larger enclosure tho

I actually removed that silly magnet boot to save some volume space and removed that rubber gasket in favor for a foam gasket on the backside

I thought 1.25 cuft was optimal. I had to add mass inside of my box to make it a little smaller. I might end up building a new one just for shiggles though.

Actually, I was reading some posts on DIYMA and it appears that optimum for 12" is huge...post#49 http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/hot ... ipped.html

I did notice a weak bottom end in my set-up, but IMO it sounds great in the 30-50hz range, so I may leave it. I'll have to RTA the car to see how bad it actually is. Then maybe drop it in a prefab 1.5 cuft sealed enclosure to see that the differences are.

I just read that thread and it seems most of those guys are just modeling it up on paper. Errin and Brian that have been testing these out in the real world prefer 1.25 cuft sealed IIRC. Let's see if they chime in, it's always possible that I am remembering wrong.

I think the woofers look better without that silly rubberness on the bottom. Very very sexy woofers. Ima get mines soon. I hope

i was running mine sealed with 1.17 cu ft each after displacement. after a month, they were really superb. i had to do some amp reconfiguration though so i'm currently using a fi q 12" until i figure out my next amp for a dual 12" setup.

i really can't recommend the RSDc subs highly enough. before i ever used them, i was skeptical, but then...totally impressed.

I just took a little drive to play with the sub. Damn, just damn! I stopped up the canyon and made a few adjustments and wow. I'm not sure on how to properly break in a sub because I have heard sooooo many different opinions, so I am just punishing this right out of the box. It's wired up to 2 ohms right now, but I'm really thinking about switching it to 8 ohm. It has more than plenty of output for me, so I really have nothing to lose. I'll wait until it breaks in then make a decision. I'm sure the wife is going to hate this!!

This honestly has me thinking about getting one for the FJ and glassing the existing box to try and fit it in. For $80 I'm not sure I can pass it up!

1-1.25 seems to be the sweet spot for the 12's. 0.4-0.6 for the 10's.

Seems like they are flying off the shelf.

Just out of curiousity, do you guys think the amazon.com sale has anything to due with PG's current state of affairs? Like trying to blast stuff out, get rid of stock and then start closing things up? Usually a vendor and distributor don't blow stuff out like this unless there is a new product line coming or they're trying to push product to reduce insolvency; usually on the vendor's side.

I hope not!! After playing around with this for a few hours I really, really like it!! I would hate to see these go away.

Well, after playing around with this sub for a few hours now I can tell you guys 2 things.

1) My wife hates this sub, it's too damn loud for her.

2) I really, really like this sub. I'll give it a few days before I post a review, but so far I am damn glad I got this beast.

I think I'll do a review as well.

I just slapped it in a sealed prefab enclosure, and its much more smooth, BUT I don't believe its worth rebuilding a larger permanent enclosure for. It works pretty well in a tiny enclosure IMO.

In my review I will compare the sub in my prefab and permanent enclosures and take RTA measurements and a few pictures displaying the data

Good deal!! Solid data is great to have, especially with that other crowd that loves to see how things look on paper.

Well , some distributors are starting to close out the Phoenix Gold line because PG isnt supplying them with products. Thats what the distributors are telling me and thus they are dropping the line. Its sad really

i hope PG continues with these innovations and doesnt just lay down like other Car audio companies

so out of everyones opions even u mr tibbs I havent installed my new one yet i stll got a few pieces to get, hey vin r u gonna compare it in a ported as well, mr tibbs what amp r u using with urs, but everyone which is the best box a ported or a sealed Im still thinking bout that one box u emailed me witht the plans mr tibbs hey u should drop it in ur old one u know "the big beast box" and tell me what it sounds like LOL

Wish I could get all the phoenix gold products from amazon. Friggin people don't ship to canada. I would buy a ton of that stuff.
