rsd amplifier questions

Currently putting a 6.5 component system(either image dynamics ctx, hertz hsks, or something else) and sub(rsdc 12 on the way :) ). Was looking at the 2 channel rsd 250.2 on amazon and the rsd 600.1 for the subwoofer. Would the 250.2 be enough to push a set of component speakers, or should I step up to the 300.4?

And my reasoning for looking at PG rsdamps is they seem like a good product at a super low price right now. Just wanting to hear some feedback.

The RSD amps were always solid performers and a fair value, but at some of the prices on the market right now they are fantastic deals.

If you're powering just one set of components the 250.2 would be the best multi-channel RSD amp. The 300.4 outputs less power per channel so it woudn't be beneficial unless you're planning on using four channels. If you need a four channel amp there is also the 500.4. It has the same power per channel as the 250.2 with the extra channels if you need them.

I just got my RSDC12 and have been powering it with a little over 400 rms and it's quite nice. I think you'll love it with the 600.1 if you load it right. It would work best with a dual 4 ohm RSDC12.

go for it! the rsd amps are rated VERY strictly on CEA standards. so the power numbers are very deceiving. they are quite powerful

Thanks guys. I also have one more question. I see woofersetc has the xenon pg 600.1 amp for a few bucks more, and wondering how they compare as far as efficiency? Really not looking to strain my electrical system in my civic, just need something to power my subwoofer.

thw xenon 600.1 is really underrated. REALLY. I think on average they are pushing between 750 to 800 watts rms. They also have great crossovers. If you are worried about your electrical system I would see an rsdc12 with dual 2 ohms wired to 4ohm on a xenon working out better than an rsdc wired at 2 ohm. Not sure which 12 you have?

Have the dual 4 ohm.
