Ordered a pair of the 10's and 12's. I couldn't decide which way to go so I'm hoping I can just drop the 10's in my present box and see how they sound. If it's not enough thump I'll cut the holes for the 12's I guess.
My box is big enough for them if they mount on the upper surface. Does anyone have the dimensions of the cutout for the 12"?
Will I have to add some solid fill material to lessen the area the 10's see? I have ~1.5 cu. ft. per at present...
Anyway, excited about the chance to hear the difference between these and the old SS's I've had forever. I couldn't pass up the sale price. If nothing else I'll put a pair in the daughters car! She'd be happy I'm sure!

Yeah the 10's like really small boxes... like .5cuft per sub. You may have to fill a lot of space to get them playing their best, though in all likelihood, they will probably sound ok as well.
Considering you have the space though, I would recommend the 12's myself. All you have to do is cut the hole a little bigger, and poof! You've got a nearly ideal configuration for them. Even with the 12's I might recommend taking up a bit of space as well, since they seem to do best in 1-1.25cuft (though at 1.5 I'll bet you can't tell the difference... generally within 20% it is very difficult to hear a change).

If anyone is looking to build a rock-solid dual 12" sealed enclosure, here are some dimensions for a double-baffle. Each chamber would be 1.17 cu ft after displacement from an RSDc, ideal for SQ setup. I was going to have Fisher Customs build this up for me, but BJ is on indefinite hiatus, which sucks. If I had the tools, I would totally do this up in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the info and drawing. I stopped shipment on the 10's. I only ordered the pair after I had bought the "last" single rsdc12. I wasn't sure I wanted to rebuild a box so I wanted a pair... hence the 10's. The next day I click on the 12" again as it still didn't say unavailable and it went into my damn basket
So it'll be the 12'ers love em or hate em.
