So I was at another flea market this morning. I came across this old Alphasonik amp (1988

) yall will love it.LOL Anysways picked it for $10. WOW

So anyways I thought Id pull some of my amps out and take some pics of them for ya'll and let ya'll jus argue, gossip, jus talk bout whatever with these bad boys. Anyways at the top of each pic is the make and model of each. So boys I hope you enjoy this thread and the pics jus to talk about what ever ya want about them. Also here's a side note for you BOARD experts out there and u newbies to how great PHOENIX GOLD is compared to MTX. Now pay attention NEWBIE's (if uve been in the audio industry for like 3 yrs or newer and/or know nothing about the industry from 1990 till 2000) this will be self evadent why MTX is OK not great, good, whatever they are jus as good as mmmm

say PYRAMID!

Ok theres a pic of the PG MS275 and a MTX thunder 502 (50wx2) (BLK chassis) not blue thunder or a road thunder. This was MTX's best line back in say era 1995-1998. This was when MTX prob had its "best quality amps" from when they started till now. Now the Alphasonik amp was built by US AMPS and stamped with Alphasonik LOGO but before Alphasonik was bought out by that junkie company umm I cant think of their name. But anyways. Also theres my PG ZX200, Soundstream REF300, MTX thunder 502, PPI PC2200, PG MS275, and a MQ430. I hope u enjoys this thread guys. PS also Im trying to see if I still have my Kicker ZX300 pics on here Ill post that board too if I can find it.

The Thunder 502 was really the first line of amps that MTX made that started their downward spiral in regards to overall quality. The series before which included the 2300, 240, 280, 2160, 4160, and 4320 was a good quality amp. Sonically solid but not to be compared to PG in that manner. Actually I think these were two series before the 502.
Also if I remember correctly my Alphasonic PMA amps that I had up until recently had a manufactured in Korea sticker. They were designed in the USA, but assembled overseas. Granted Korea at the time was better than a Chinese build house. These were decent amps at best.

Alphasonik was bought by someone the next gen set of the pic I posted thats when I know they were made over seas. Now I dont know if us amps was made here or wherever. But it was alphasonik's only decent line after when they were blingy they sucked. Now the mtx line I didnt say it was their first or whatever I was jus talkin bout the years when they became big and everyone knew who they were. Denim I have the sink for the REF300 and for all of them I was jus showing the guts for everyone.

Yeah USAmps was made in good old Florida. What a great line of amps when they were made here in the USA! Yeah i looked up that model of the Alphasonic and they were definetly different cosmetically than my old ones. Similar (if not the same) heat sinks with different graphics.
The old MTX gear that was made by PPI was without a doubt an awesome line of amps. Limited offerings but great amps. The first Thunder Series that came out were good amps as well but it was pretty much downhill after the second generation of the Thunder Series.
That REF300 is a TANK!!!!! I ran 5 of those in my nissan hardbody way back when. They were some serious amps.
