RSD500.4 Bridging

I am kicking around the Idea of buying one of these RSD500.4 Amps. I am planning on running the front channels stereo and the rear channels bridged to a JL 13TW5 - 3ohm. Will this run the bridged rear channels @ 1.5ohm? Can this amp handle the 1.5ohm load? What would the power output be on the bridged channel?

I do not think it will be happy if you run it 1.5 OHM's it may do it but would generate alot of heat. just running it at 2 OHM's stereo and mine gets toasty quick and they are only components not a sub.

I would not recommend it. Running 4 ohm stereo on one side of the amp, and 1 ohm stereo on the other side, with a shared power supply... that is a recipe for a blown rear channel. It "can" handle it but I wouldn't recommend it. Personally I would go with 8 ohms instead, which is less than 3dB down on the 4 ohm optimal power.

Ok thanks guys. The 13TW5 only comes in a 3ohm. So I am already locked in. I thought the RSD500.4 had a dual power supply design?

Wait are you just running one sub or two?
I thought you were planning to run TWO at 1.5 ohms bridged, which would be 0.75 ohm stereo load. If you're only planning to run one sub at 3 ohms bridged that will be fine. For all intents and purposes, those 3 ohm JLs can be considered "4 ohm" as they are well within the tolerance of well built amplifiers.
I have a JL 10W7 HO Wedge running off the bridged rear channels of my Ti500.4 right now. No problemo. You can expect at least 300 or so watts out of it.
