ok guys I was wondering could I solder a couple of leds to an RJ45 cable end (of course to the right wires) and plug the other end in a ZX450 and a Ti600.2 cause Im sure that the pins in the jack on the amps are jus connected to the leds on the amps them selfs and are hot when the leds are triped cause I think the RDDP unit itself is just a RJ45 splitter it self for multi amps cause Id like to "factory intagrate" some status leds in my truck up front kinda like what ttocs did in his ranger any suggestions would be great thanx in advance guys oh also if it could be done then would I have to put a resistor inline with led to step down the voltage Im thinkin that the rj45 jacks on the amps isnt putting 12v signal out of them

yeah you can definetly just solder the leds to the correct wires on piece of cat5 cable and it will work perfectly. You can even wire in a voltage display to the cable. You dont have to use any resistors or such it is straight forward.
I have made several of them myself.

Thanks, the overhead consol worked better then I imagined.
I just found a link last night that showed the pin out of the RJ45 cable for the three color leds, but can't find it today. I am digging around a little bit to see if I can find it but it can be done easily.
If you need the cables let me know. My neighbor runs cable for a living and as the ends by the dozen and the raw cable.

Finally found it

The hardest part seems to be the leds that the R-link uses. The red/blue/purple is non-standard and I think I have a leed on some now but I am not sure yet.
Now I am back on a mission to get back into where I was last night. Some how I found a back door to roden.com on a public account and was surfing through all of their build pics to their show cars.......... I can't find internet history on vista damnit!

I am talking to the only person that seems to be able to get ahold of the red/blue/purple led that is used in the r-link setup and hoping to get a price a under $2 each before shipping. I am going to be making myself a cable to go from the front side of my amp and this would be exactly like the one you(or anyone else interested) would need. Let me know if you want an led or if you want I can make the intire cable since I am already doing it for myself. I actually connected and ran the cable this morning. I am gonig to use it to use it to drive the RMD display as well as the leds when I get them.

the Green/yellow/red or green/red/orange leds would make the most sence to me, I will need mine to match the r-link version since it will be 3 inches away. the first two leds are easy to find...
