Question on running ZPAs with a Ti

A recent thread got me thinking about this. I've always wanted a ZPA or two from way back when I first got into car audio in the mid 90's in college, but couldn't afford it.

Now if for some reason I could find two 0.3's in good shape, hopefully with the caps replaced, I'd run one to my tweets, one to my mids, and run them along a Ti600.2 to my sub, so I'd have the ability to do an LPL. Something like this:

Headunit -> RCA -> Tbat -> Balanced Cat 6 -> EQ232 -> Balanced Cat 6 -> ZPX2 crossover...

From the crossover, I'd go:
ZPX2 -> Balanced Cat 6 -> ZPA for tweets
ZPX2 -> Balanced Cat 6 -> ZPA for mids
ZPX2 -> RCA -> 600.2 for sub

Now my question is with the line driver an EQ, since I know the ZPA's need 8v inputs to get the most out of them. So I'm guessing I could crank up the input voltage for the ZPA's, but be limited to whatever the 600.2 could take, since the line driver/EQ are in line before the crossover.

Does that make sense, or did I just confuse the hell out of all the phorum members? :lol:

you think the Ti will not like the higher voltage input? Is that what you are saying?

Yes, actually, that's probably the best way to say I what I'm thinking. Don't ask what I typed above, it's been a LONG ass week. :roll:

Yeah, just worried the Ti wouldn't like as much voltage as the ZPA's, so the Ti would be the limiting factor.

Hmmm.
How about 3 ZPA's ?

As much as I like the idea, I don't think I can run them fully balanced like I'd want, and be able to do an LPL. Neither the ZPX2 or EQ232/EQ30 has an LPL port.

Plus I've read several times on here ZPA's will be more beneficial to the highs and mids than subs, so that's why I thought if I kept the Ti600 on the sub, wouldn't be missing as much (compared to running a 3rd ZPA), and I'd have an LPL.

you should be fine, I gave my Ti600 the full 8 volts from my 215iX for years with out fail and the ZX450 :)

Ah, good to know. I didn't think it was all that big of a concern, and right now is just an idea. I haven't even got my system installed yet, so I'm sure I'll see how my 500.4 and 600.2 sound before I go buying ZPAs.

Of course, I was just going to go for a "simple install" when I started planning this several months ago. You know how that goes, now I have so much stuff stacked in my office my wife thinks I'm nuts.

I have a line driver on my octane le and it LOOOOOOVES it. I added it after the fact and it did clean up the sigal a little bit.

all PG amps up to the end of the ZX/ti stuff would accept the 8 volt signal. They will love it. Just b sure to watch the sens when setting them
