R-link output different then RDDP output?

I am trying to hook up the front RDDP output on my octane LE, the subs RDDP output is already ran into a R-link and then back up to the fronts display(whick I want to expand). My problem is that I can't seem to get the output from the front to work and I am a little confused after going through different sources on here.

I first went to the official source, the pg release for the RDDP which confuses me because it shows 4 wires being used for the status led.

That shows using 3 different leds to do it but I really wanted to make it work like the output of the R-link does with the 2 - 3 color leds. I have found the leds and tested them in the R-link to confirm they work but when I wire them up to the front output with the same pin out as the r-link nothing works.

I also tried this way but could not get it to work either?

Anybody have any ideas?

Are your tri-color leds common anode or common cathode? I believe most multi colored LEDs are common cathode. The RDDP is wired as Common anode, and the grounds are switched to light the LEDs.

they are common cathode, the same as the ones that come with the rddp. I tested this by plugging them in and they work the same.

I guess the rddp changes it??????

That would be my guess, but I have never had one in front of me to play with it. You can invert the output numerous ways, the simplest being with relays, but that will probably make your project to large. You could also do it simply with some small signal transistors, or a small mosfet. There shouldn't be much to it.
