Powercore X2?
The last one does look bad, but I don't see any large holes blown in the cap (at least from that angle). I wonder if re-sealing these is possible when it only has a small fluid leak?
I disassembled my cap and cleaned all the parts with CLR... it ate all the corrosion right off of them. It's worth a shot on yours. Obviously do not use any chemicals on the cap itself!

Yeah, nice one??
Regarding the caps, I cannot see any leaks at all, only corrosion...
So maybe I am "lucky"??

I don't think it is a pg product looking at the internals. Why would they put a T-tap on their connection right next to one where they correctly soldered/shrank?

Just a PG-cover on steriods, you mean?
Anyways, regardless of what you think - Externally it looks PG to me, and I was not chocked over the T-parts inside... I have seen lot of amusing things before...

wtf....that is a whole lot of potential to turn a fat lot of money and work into a pyre....those things are scary...to many weird issues and I know of three car fires where these were involvled....I would really carefully consider using those in your car pedi.....

well what you have confirms what i said before
the caps with short leads coming out of them dont seem to have any issues regarding leakage
the caps with long leads coming out of them appear to be the bad batch if you like
also these powercores dont have any issues as far as i know with fires it was the earlyer version that used all seperate caps inside that used to catch on fire

It came from PG factory. I forgot when and why but I do remember seeing it.
Inside wiring might have been changed by a previous owner.

I need your addy Pedi...it isn't on pay pal.....
It was for the most part the 20 farads...but the first 15s with the exposed caps were bad too. I have friends who worked on equipment for pg and they won't run any in their cars no matter what....
They have all had split caps and leaking....that is room for fire and the potential very very bad things....Lots of people have run em without issue and fire....but I wouldn't put any amp that cost me more then chump change on one as when the cap goes and splits it will be ugly if anything is in line with it.....I won't say it and beat an dead horse anymore....but they were and are flawed....
