Best way to add LPL without crossover?

Post by Audiophiliac »

Basically, I am planning for a couple of MS/MPS amps for my system. I would love to have an LPL knob. However, my Eclipse 8053 has all the crossover options I need. Soooo....can I throw a "bypass" RNET into a AX204 and make it a "dumb" box simply so I can use the LPL? Or is there another easier way to add the LPL? Thanks!!

I would guess it would work. Is there such thing as a dummy rnet? Can you make an rnet with a really high LP so it wont affect the Eclipse LP? Say....1k or so?

I guess using a really high lowpass would achieve the same thing. And the bass cube, although as cool a toy as it is (I had one in my system at one time in conjunction with a LPL), is a bass boost....not a level control. It might be a nice addition, but does not accomplish my goal of a simple level control. The Eclipse has a subwoofer level control, but it takes too many steps too get to it fast.
