Sapphire 3.0 vs ZX200
Sapphire 3.0 vs ZX200
I'm currently running my front stage with the sapphire but have the opportunity to buy a fully refurbished ZX200. Is this a worthwhile upgrade? Pro's and con's of each please. Thanks.
I have a zx200 and I really like the amp...I don't know bout the saphire...but it was pg's bottom rung. I just did a repair job on a qx amp and I do beleive they are similar to the saphire....not impressive imo....I would go with the zx200....may need caps.....but they are easy enough on the zx amps
there are several ways....you can use non polarized caps as filters or you can buy a crossover....dude the xvr crossovers would let you run your highs at 160 and up 6db slope and a 2 ohm sub or two midbass subs off of the single amp in tri linear operation and the x overs are 30 bucks shipped on ebay right now....
Thanks for the help bud. I think i'll go down the crossover route then. Here's what i've got and is waiting to be installed; pioneer Avic x1, tantrum 1200.1 to push 2x Kicker 12L7's sealed, Kenwood ps400m pushing 2x 98' Kicker 12"freeair ported. I know there are many variables to take into the equation but what spl do you think this would make? I want to beat my mate who is pushing 2x Kicker 15L7's with a hifonics brutus 2006D.
I turned 4 12in l7s into doorstops in a week...don't care for them as they are worthless for sq and for spl they make a real driver...solo x.......sell the l7 and buy a 12inch solo x....I ran two 12 inch solo's off of an audiobahn a4kdn
In 3.63 ft cubed the solo x is rated at 1300 rms....and it will run stupid hard on it...but they want real power in the 6 ft enclosures...I ran mine in the 3.63 ft each with 2 k rms 6 k dynamic total and it ripped the sheet metal in my trunk....no exaggerating...the solo is a beast. And they will take the thermal roll off to ridiculous extremes...had mine so hot I left finger prints in the cone touching it and I never seized on up....dude I really tried as I bought recones when I got em and I never blew one in a year that I ran em.
And yeah...they are field repairable...99 buck per recone off of the bay....
