octane-r 15.0.1 based on QX series amplifiers ?

hi guys,
i was having a look inside of my octane-r 15.0.1, just to have a look at its components and build ....
what caught my eyes was this .... " QX900.1MA " printed on the board.
Is the octane-r series based on the QX series of amplifiers ?
Just curious ?

It's true. Octane is just an updated QX.

wow I really dont ever hear anyone dogging on the qx's like they do the octane-r stuff. I mean they are stupid looking but I cant imagine they sound all that bad, excluding the 5.1mt of course.

i never dog on the r series.
they are reliable and have a decent sized footprint.
and really, they dont sound bad. they sound like a normal mosfet amp, they dont have the head room to compete with high end amps when you start turning up the volume. but really, they are fine amps

yeah a buddy of mine busted his pg cherry on a set of qx's and he liked them. and i know this dude well enough that he has an ear for music reproduction.
