for those that know i have acomplished what alot of peeps feel is not possible
i was able to hit 140db on a termlab with one elite 12 and two ms212s @ 30hz

now i wanna go more severe.

i wanna do 145 at 30 hz with two elite 12s running 2k of power

now i wanna try a transmission line enclosure for the two elites

quarter wave at 25 hz and incar boost will be about 30hz. give or take

what do u all think of this...

again im not going for musicallity or any of that mumbo jumbo.

i wanna use quarter wave in car and use the cars 8 ft from back to front to slam everything into phase at around 30hz at the windshield

if i do this project u guys will get pics..

aloha

im doing a tl for a 8 inch sub at about 30hz and then comparing it to a ported box at 30hz to see which one gives more gain at that freq.

Hey Marc... long time no see...
I have some experience with building TL's , and I have some doubts wether such a enclosure will bring you what you want...
This because the typical TL does not have a particular high efficiency.
Advantage ofcourse, like you said is the low resonance which can be tuned to the desired frequency.
Will the wave be able to unfold itself within the car's environment....?
Anyway, I'll love to hear how your experiences with this!

Won't a TL for 2 x Elite12's be too big to fold up in your trunk??

That was my thought.

I'm wanting to learn more about TL boxes. Where/what info have you found that you could provide me? Links?
Sounds like it should be insane. Good Luck with it.

yes its gonna be a big ass box....
some of the box will come out a bit from back seats area but i will still have a cabin gain, and yes i will have about 84 inches from box to windshield to have the wave get pretty close to maturity.

if i can then i will tune the line a bit higher but i have been reading about light dampning to slow down the speed of air in line to play lower while keeping a shorter line then needed for that frequency, again its a thought and i may not get this to work unless i really modify the car cause i will need as much height as possible to fit this line.

ill keep u all posted.

The dampning material should be exactly calculated, and positioned at the right places.... for a TL 100% wool is recommended.
Like you said, it serves as a mechanical way to slow down the air, making it possible to get a lower res. freq. at the same length.
I always had it calculated when coming up with a new idea; experimenting is impossible to do... hope you get it right. 8)
