PG Titanium 600.2 (FAN)

Well I've a few Ti amps, powercore, DD10 etc.

But my amps are giving me f few problems.

The fans and power LED's have stopped working.

I removed the fan and tested on 12v supply and it just tried to turn but didn't I then stripped another amp and tested the fan and it was working so built it into the amp I wanted to use.

After refitting to the car it worked ok but after a few days it had stopped. Found a supplier of 80mm slimline fans and ordered 10 (so I could replace all the amps fans) but after striping the amp again and fitting one of the brand new fans. I just tested the one I removed and it was working.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Also why would the 3 power LEDs not be working but the amp is?

Any help at all would be good or plans of the amp wiring off all the PG Titanium range would be outstanding.

Thanks

the led's have been known to just die, shelf life i guess. I have had to replace LEDs in various TI items as well- so it is common issue. LEDS can be gotten off digi-key, mouser, etc.. i might even have some left over from last remove/replace jobby job i did.

One thing i did/do notice is that the LEDS i have a little brighter then OEM, kinda more "bluer", so they might not be exactly the same as OEM, but was/were close enough for me... and I even liked the brighter LEDs better than the orig's, it livened it up a bit i would say...

NOW about the fans, I dunno.... next guy on that one. that sounds/seems weird to me, but i am sure there is a good explanation.

AND Welcome to the forum... you should be able to get all them straightened out with just a lil time and research and communication with most anyone on here.

When I replaced the leds in my octane le, I remember something about the way the leds are wired that they use them as a funny voltage divider possibly for the fan, I can't remember. Two of the 3 leds on mine were just broken as though I had put something heave on them althought I know I didn't.

I am going to need to replace the fan in my octane as it is making a horrible noise, let me know what you would like for one of those fans if they work...........

Thanks for the replays lads.

Know what you mean about the LED's I'd say the org ones have a purple / blue colour.

I've refitted the amp to the car ands the the new fan it working but we will see how it goes over the next few days.

Would be nice if this forum had the Schematics for all the old Phoenix Gold so if repair were needed people could have a better idea of what was wrong.
