been a lurker for a long time but never had much to contribute so this is my first post so bare with me.
ive been using PG amps for a long time and my current MPS2240 has developed a fault

ive just comming to the end of my install and im ready to pop in the amp. after checking all wires ect i connected it up

BUT...................

instead of a lovely green power light it flashes, just the green one and no other. thought this was odd but connected up the rca and speaker cables and now it flashes 2 times slowly and then 3 fast then 2 slow 3 fast and so on. no sound whatsoever.

i took it out and tested it on the bench and i get the green flashing light the yellow and red never come on.

i set up my old orion amp into the car and it works fine no problems so my install is ok.

any ideas as ive never seen this before

thank you in advance

maybe a stupid call, but did you check the smaller 10a or are they 5 amp buss fuses on the board?? either check continuity if you can, or pull them out and really take good look at them think if those are not good, they can pose problems i.e. no lights, etc. - i think so anyways

fuses are fine, just did a continuity check on them.

just tried it on the bench there and the red ovr led came on for 2 seconds then the green continued on its flashing regime. i turned the power off then on again but the red light didnt come on........

so could this be a capacitor?? leaving it overnight allowed it to discharge then when i powered it up the fault light came on intill the cap was charged again???

clutching at straws here......... not very electronically minded

Have the caps already been replaced?
Had one that showed similar effects due to a almost complete short-cicuit under the inputcaps.
Shortly after that it burned the traces in that spot...... was a hell of a repair to do it decent.
