Hey Im going to experiement with a combination of speakers and just wanted to know if anybody's done this yet or thinks it would be a good idea.
since the elites ti6 are known for being great "MidRange" drivers and not so much for midbass.
and the rsd's a known for having great midbass but lacking in the midrange dept.
Why not use them both???

Quite a few people have considered using the rsd65's as designated midbass drivers to compliment various two-way systems. I'm not sure if anyone has actually followed through with it. In my opinion, by the time you go through the hassle and invest the time and funds it takes to implement a three-way system in most vehicles, why not spring for the ti9's?

i considered it so many times. at night i have dreams about them but i just dont have the time nor space to put those beasts. I wished i could get them in my door but the biggest size woofer i can get in there and not comfortably would be an 8".

There would be better dedicated 6" midbass woofers. The RSDs are still a midrange, despite having decent midbass performance. A dedicated, purpose built midbass would be better.

Now since you already have your RSDs it is a little late for that. What I would NOT suggest however is running both component sets full range up front. Instead you would need to run the RSDs as midbass woofers in the doors, and using the elites full range above that.
So something like this
60-150Hz - RSDs
150Hz-20kHz - Elites
How to set this up depends on the crossovers and amps you have available.
Overlapping two different sets of speakers, especially if they are mounted on a different plane, will have all sorts of phasing, cancellation and other such issues. It will make a mess of your front stage.

good advice thanks. I actually ordered the rsds for my rear deck. what im doing this morning is mounting the woofers in the rear deck and since one of my ti elite tweeters just died... Ill be replacing them with the rsd tweets until I can find another set of elite tweeters.
I was trying to keep it all pg but i guess im going to have to try those SLS6's out.
will the rsd tweeter be ok on the elite crossover (which is seeing about 120wrms per side)? and how much power can I get away with per woofer?

They should be ok with the Elite... not perfect, but better than pretty much anything but the real thing (unless you can find some 4 ohm Morel tweeters!). The RSDs can handle 150w nicely, so I would set that as your ceiling. More power is OK as long as it is unclipped, and you don't play test tones through them.

I installed my rsds earlier i got to really listen a little while ago...... wow. they sound good even my fiance noticed the difference.
the woofers are ib in my rear deck with about 100 wrms a piece and wow is all i can say. I did notice a slight distortion but way down lown during a b.e.p song dont remember which one but my hpf dealt with that.
the tweeters or rather tweeter took place of the one blown ti elite tweeter and right away i noticed that the rsd is brighter but sounds about thesame.
im getting another set or two.
