Need a recommendation for an Amp repairman

Well the ZX350 I got in the mail has a burned diode :(

I think the board and stuff lived, but two or three diodes died harsh death.

The amp is gorgeous otherwise.

Anyone here into repairing the ZX amps? Or know of someone they can recommend?

Hopefully I can get a picture posted later.

Thanks!

eric is good at the zx series gear- think it is his specialty in fact or they are his favorite- one or the other or both- check with him (doc fosgate)

Yes, those amps are my favorite PG amps. Can you post some photos of what you are taking about?

I hope this works...

From the board layout it seems to be section "Q9".

The seller claims this still works... I have not hooked it up at all to verify. If it does still operate I imagine one channel sounds horrible.

Eric, if you are willing I am more than happy to send her your way for repair! Just let me know a ballpark figure and I can claim that against the seller.

Thank you!

I cannot tell much from those photos, they are far too blurry.

I suggest you hook the amp up, but put a small fuse, like 10A in line with it. Don't play music too loud initially, but make sure it works or does not. With a small fuse like 10A, you should have little worry of it killing anything, or doing itself any further damage.

Lets try some more photos... Of better quality I hope. The glare when taking these pictures is crazy!

The back of the board looks good if that counts for anything. :)

Ok, I see what is going on now. Give the amp a try anyway, using a small fuse like I suggested. This way you can get a better idea if it works or not, and if it does not, what exactly about it does not work.
